In the northwestern suburb of
YangZhou stands the Guanyin Hill (Hill Of Goddess of Mercy)，for
it has a Guanyin Temple on it.
The hill is skirted by a clean stream and covered by green
pines and cypresses。The famous“Maze Palace'’of Emperor Yangdi
was built atop the hill amidst verdant trees．Travellers
can go up on foot or by coach．On the terrace in front of the
mountain gate one can get the best view of the surroundings．
In ancient times，Yangzhou attracted many emperors．
