Pingshan Hall
|
Pingshan Hall was built in l048
(the NOrthern Song dynasty)
Translator's note：Special art of Japan．Layers of gauze and
lacquer are attached to a mould alternately．Then the mould is
taken out and the bodiless gauze and lacquer statue is painted
and given finishing touches.
When the famous man of letters OuyangXiu was mayor of Yangzhou.When
you 1ook to the south from the hall you see hills. in front
of you,hence the name pingshan,meaning“at the same level as
the hills"．OuyangXiu and his friends from the literary
circles often held dinner parties here.He planted a weeping
willOw in front of the hall which was later called"Lord
Ouyang’S willow"．
Behind PingShanHall is Gulin Hall belonging to SuDongpo．
